Pathogenesis

Ñ    Dilatation of capillaries and small arterioles

Ñ    Bleed easily

Ñ    Tendency to bleed increases with age

Ñ    Gastrointestinal bleeding from multiple sites

Ñ    Telangiectasiae in the skin

Ñ    Arterio-venous malformations in the lungs:

Associated clubbing and cyanosis
